![]() ![]() So now there are the Casinos and the "original" 330 (plus its reissues) with the short neck and the frets buried in the body, and there are the 330L's (as some designate them) with the frets arranged like those on the 335.įar as I know, no Casinos have a nitrocellulose finish. So Gibson restructured the interior of the 330 to accommodate the longer neck. Problem is, without the maple block in the body (the main structural difference between the semi-hollow 335 and the fully hollow 330), quite a few of the early "longer" 330's simply folded up on customers. ![]() So Gibson lengthened the neck of the 330, moved the pickups and moved the fretboard on the 330. Why you would want to remove the P-90s and replace them is odd. To the old fella: I have two Casinos and two Gretsches. The 335 proved much more popular, with greater upper fret access. The Casino is thinner than the G5122, but is also heavier mainly due to the sustain block. You could make that argument for all the Beatles, really, maybe with the exception of Paul, when it comes to straight. He was known for his innovative songwriting and distinct voice. The original 330's (and most of the Casinos, I think) have a lot of the frets buried in the body. unpopular opinion here, but Lennon wasnt really known for his guitar playing. There are two 330 models, depending on where the neck is attached. Assuming you've figured out the differences, here's something else to consider. ![]()
